3 Challenges Driving Tech Adoption Among Food Service Distributors
225 million people in the U.S. eat food prepared in a professional kitchen each day, and food service distributors deliver everything a restaurant might need to serve its customers, from non-perishable and dry goods like flour and canned ingredients, to fresh produce, meats, seafood, and frozen goods.

Challenge #2: Growth of Specialty Distributors
For smaller distributors, the highly competitive broadline environment means that they must either find ways to operate more cost-effectively to compete with the “big dogs,” or focus on product niches that can set them apart. Demographic changes play a role in this growth. Broadline food service distributors and specialty distributors alike seek greater efficiencies and the ability to service as many customers as possible without the overhead of a large sales team.
