THE ARTIST: My name is Alison Jefferies and J'Adorn Designs is the custom jewelry and bridal accessories studio where I create and sell my designs. My work aims to celebrate the loves and achievements of women from all walks of life. I'm based in Baltimore, MD, and established my business in 2012. MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION: I specialize in delicate jewelry and heirloom quality hair adornments featuring gemstones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski elements, and mixed media such as paper millinery flowers and lace. I make every piece by hand personally, using methods such as lost wax casting, metal fabrication, stone setting, wire wrapping, and hand sewing. The metals I use include 14k gold and gold-fill, sterling silver, bronze (castings), and plated metals (hair accessories only). INSPIRATION: As an avid gardener and water sports enthusiast, I draw inspiration from floral and oceanic forms, with botanical details featured prominently in my work. Clients appreciate my handcrafted accessories for their intricate details, expert quality craftsmanship, and lightweight nature for comfortable wear.
