This naturally dyed sarong was printed in Rajasthan using the mud resist "dabu" technique and printed entirely by hand using carved wood blocks. Dabu printing is a labor intensive process where the raw fabric is printed with mud and then sprinkled with saw dust to create the white design. The fabric is then submerged in pigments to create the colorful background.
These sarongs can also be used as table runners, scarves, shawls, sarongs, head wraps, throws or even tied into skirts and tops.
