French Riviera Bien

Our French Riviera Bien tote is made of abaca, a fiber painstakingly extracted by our harvesters from a cousin of the banana plant. It is knotted to form a continuous thread, then these threads are twisted together to form a slim continuous rope. Larone artisans then weave this rope into its basket shape using wooden molds. Abaca fiber has been used since the 19th century for ship rigging. You know what THAT means - durable and water-resistant!  Environment-friendly and sustainable, this is artisanship that will never go out of fashion!
