Message brand

Pablo Pic-ass-o based on Pablo Picasso's self portrait "Self Portrait Facing Death" from 1972.

Pablo Pic-ass-o is part of a series of illustrations named Famous Animals in History. A little back story: a friend who is an art professor, messaged Krishna while she was grading art history tests, one of the students misspelled van Gogh. Her message read "Vincent van Gogh...Vincent van Goph...VINCENT VAN GOPHER!! Make it happen." And so, Krishna did, along with a few others.

Hoboken, NJ
NANU Studio is an illustration studio owned and operated by Krishna Chavda, an Indian-American woman, who believes in creating good drawings and products while doing good for the planet and its inhabitants. NANU Studio creates playful and vibrant illustrations for high-quality goods, product packaging, publishing, and surface design. In this catalog you will find NANU Studio’s product line of illustrated greeting cards, stationery, fine art prints, and other fun things. The illustrations are inspired by pop culture, overheard conversations, the natural world, and word-play. The witty and whimsical pen and ink designs are generally filled with puns so chuckles and smiles abound. Why “NANU Studio,” you might wonder? Nanu means little in Gujarati and it is what my family calls me as I am the little sister. I associate the nickname with my creative juices and overall curious, spirited nature, so it is only fitting to incorporate the name into the studio name. As a business owner, I am committed to sustainable and eco-friendly business practices. My paper products are produced locally in New Jersey using 100% PCW recycled paper, water-based inks, solar and wind power. NANU Studio strives to keep packaging minimal and as plastic-free as possible. I hope you enjoy these products as much as I enjoy making them. If you are interested in carrying these products, or would like to collaborate on a custom project, kindly drop me a note. I look forward to hearing from you!
