THE ARTIST: My name is Alison Jefferies and J'Adorn Designs is the custom jewelry and bridal accessories studio where I create and sell my designs. MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION: I specialize in delicate jewelry and heirloom quality hair adornments featuring gemstones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski elements, and mixed media such as paper millinery flowers and lace. I make every piece by hand personally, using methods such as lost wax casting, metal fabrication, stone setting, wire wrapping, and hand sewing. The metals I use include 14k gold and gold-fill, sterling silver, bronze (castings), and plated metals (hair accessories only). INSPIRATION: As an avid gardener and water sports enthusiast, I draw inspiration from floral and oceanic forms, with botanical details featured prominently in my work.
