The Studio at Fernando Bengoechea was created in his memory, with the mission of keeping his art alive by preserving, reviving and evolving his legacy. His brother, Marcelo, refuses to let Fernando's art die with him and continues his work by hand-weaving Limited Editions of his memorable photographs. Fernando's fine art photographs are also available as Museum Quality Archival Prints in several easy to frame sizes. Based in Leucadia, a surfy, artsy, funky and trendy community in Coastal Encinitas, Southern California, Fernando's brother Marcelo is on a mission to not let Fernando's art disappear with him. It's like a collaboration between brothers. Fernando does the image and Marcelo does the weaving. It took Marcelo more than a decade to build up the courage and start weaving. He thought that it was "his" thing and that he had no right to "steal it" from his brother. As time went by; and with people continuing to show interest in Fernando's work, his view slowly changed. All our art is made to order. Marcelo accepts commission work using Fernando's images or your own photos (quality must be approved by artist). If necessary, a custom photoshoot can be arranged, specially for portraits. Weavings can be done at any custom size.
